About Us Meet the Team


Sally Tomatoes may get its name from the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, but it gets its heart and soul from the two owners, Gerard Giudice and Bill Pettibone. With a combined experience of about 50 years in the restaurant and catering industry, their goal is to make sure your food is amazing and your event is memorable.

Gerard and Bill started working together 17 years ago when they helped open and manage the McGinnis Restaurant in San Rafael. After 7 years, they left to manage the Oakmont Quail Inn Restaurant and, several years later, they moved to Russell Ramsey’s Chop House in Santa Rosa. Through all those years, they catered hundreds of weddings, rehearsal dinners, anniversaries, wine maker dinners, birthdays, bar/bat mitzvas, work parties, New Years Eve parties, and other special events and made sure each one received special attention.

Finally, in 2005, Bill and Gerard decided it was time to open their own place — a place where the food was authentic and delicious, as well as affordable. They found a small space in downtown Cotati in beautiful Sonoma County and on Oct. 10, 2005, opened the first Sally Tomatoes. As their deli and catering company grew in popularity, they realized they needed a much bigger space. And so, in 2007, Sally Tomatoes moved to the green community of Sonoma Mountain Village in Rohnert Park.

While many changes have occurred in Bill and Gerard’s lives, their commitment to delicious food, a friendly atmosphere, and to picture perfect events has never wavered.
